Painting Tips & Guides for Singapore Homeowners
Matex, Vinilex 5000, All-in-1 or Ultra Durable: which should you choose?
Matex for rentals and tighter budgets, Vinilex 5000 for a single colour on a budget, Odour-less All-in-1 or Easywash for most homes, and Ultra Durable if you have young kids since marks wipe off with a damp cloth. Tell us your flat type and we'll tell you straight which one makes sense.
Ask us on WhatsApp →How often should you repaint your HDB or condo?
Most walls in Singapore need a repaint every 5 to 7 years, sooner in kitchens and bathrooms because of the humidity. Yellowing, hairline cracks and marks that don't wipe off are the usual signs. Selling or renting out? A fresh coat pays for itself.
Ask us on WhatsApp →Peeling paint, cracks and water stains: what to do first
Paint over a damaged wall and the new coat peels within months. Cracks need patching, water stains need sealing, and flaking paint has to be scraped back first. We settle all the prep before any colour goes on.

Warm whites, sage greens and clay tones are what homeowners are picking now. Lighter shades open up smaller rooms, and darker feature walls work well if you have good natural light. Not sure? We bring colour samples to the site visit.
Ask us on WhatsApp →Is limewash paint worth it for HDB flats in Singapore?
Limewash is the finish everyone's talking about in 2026, but it's not right for every wall. Here's an honest breakdown of where it shines, where we'd avoid it, and what it costs.

Both give you that tactile, non-flat look: but humidity, moisture and daily wear affect them very differently. A room-by-room breakdown so you pick the right finish the first time.

Usually yes for rentals, often yes for sales, but not always. An honest look at when a fresh coat pays for itself and when it doesn't.

Questions We Get Asked
How much does it cost to paint an HDB flat in Singapore?
Our whole-home rates start at $600 for a 2-room flat (under 600 sqft) and $800 for a 4-room flat (900 to 1,100 sqft) on our Budget tier, all-in. That covers labour, paint, furniture moving and covering, patching, and full clean-up. See the pricing table for every flat type and tier. Final price is confirmed at your free site visit, which is free and carries no obligation.
How long does it take to paint an HDB flat?
Most HDB flats are done in a single day. Larger 5-room and executive units, or flats needing heavy prep like crack patching or water-stain sealing, can run into a second day. We tell you the expected duration in writing at the quote stage, not after we've started.
Which paint brands do you use?
We work with Nippon Paint, Dulux, Jotun, Gush, Benjamin Moore, Kansai Paint and Taubmans, and can source others on request. We're not tied to one supplier, so we recommend based on how the room actually gets used rather than what we happen to stock.
Do I need to move my furniture out?
No. We shift furniture to the centre of the room, cover it, protect your floors and skirting, and shift everything back before we leave. That's included in every quote, not billed as an extra.
What if the paint job has a problem after you leave?
WhatsApp us and we come back to fix it. No charge, no argument. We're a direct contractor, not a middleman, so you're dealing with the same people who did the work.
What happens if you find hidden damage once you start?
We stop and show you before doing anything. Water damage or mould behind furniture does happen, and it needs treating before paint goes on or the new coat will fail. We'll quote the additional work separately so you can decide, rather than surprising you on the final bill.
Do you paint condos and landed properties too?
Yes. Our published table covers HDB flat types since that's most of our work, but we do condos, landed homes and rooms-only jobs regularly. WhatsApp us the details and we'll quote it.
Are you a registered company?
Yes. Tintin Painting is a registered Singapore business, UEN 202630526H, based at 60 Paya Lebar Road, #06-33 Paya Lebar Square. Happy to provide our details in writing before you commit to anything.
